This 3-weekend pr ofessional training program will provide educators, medical caregivers, therapists, artists, and those in related fields with the basic training they will need in the expressive and creative arts to begin working as Expressive Arts Educational Facilitators in the profession of their choice.
The expressive and creative arts are a holistic transformative process that can be used with any population and age group to facilitate physical healing through stress reduction; emotional transformation; a deeper sense of self-awareness; consciousness evolution and creative development.
This 3-weekend professional training program will focus on using a multi-modal approach to the expressive and creative arts concentrating specifically on an integration of the visual arts with movement, sound, and expressive writing. Class lectures and discussions on the applications of the expressive and creative arts and research supporting its efficacy will be combined with hands-on experiential exercises.
Only 18 students are accepted per year. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Program's Coordinator, Barbara Ganim at (401) 341-2157 or ganimb@salve.edu as soon as possible since the program fills quickly.
